Personality:
Anew’s personality is somewhat variable. In general she is serious about the work that she is doing, no matter what the task might be. She is a hardworker, and understands the consequences of not completing a task. This was shown when she apologized to Revive when they failed to complete their mission. Prior to having her memories awoken by Revive, Anew’s temperament was typically a friendly one, getting along with the other members of Celestial Being. After her memories, she comes marginally more serious and an ability to use violence that was not shown previously.
Early on, before her memories are revived, Anew shows a value to loyalty when she questions Lyle and states in no uncertain terms that she suspects he is the one giving the enemy their location. Following the return of her memories, her loyalty quickly switched from Celestial Being to the Innovators.
Without a doubt, Anew’s major love out of life is Lyle Dylandy. A deep attachment was developed with him early on. He was the only person who was able to embarrass her and he has the ability to sway her convictions. However, her dedication to the Innovators is broken several times by the appearance of Lyle. So strong is her love for Lyle that she nearly leaves the Innovators completely to join him again.
Because of the fact that Anew dies soon after getting her memories, her thoughts of everything are not seen. However, I feel that she would be conflicted over her own feelings since she is an Innovator, but she is in love with Lyle. Her gentler nature would probably be seen, especially around those who do not know what she is. For those who know, the serious nature that she showed as Innovator would probably come through.
History:
Anew is an Innovator, created for the express purpose of infiltrating Celestial Being. She was given false memories and her memories of being an Innovator were suppressed so that she wouldn't realize what she was until she was needed to act.
She was "recruited" by Wang Lui Mei as Celestial Being was starting up again. When the Ptolemy went to one of their asteroid bases to repair and get new equipment, she met up with the crew of the Ptolemy and helped to test equipment for Gundam 00. Following the battle that followed soon after, she spoke with Lockon Stratos (Lyle) and he told her it was a shame that she wouldn't be joining them since he wanted to get to know her better. She told him that she would be joining them as a member of the crew.
After joining the crew, she became on of the ship's pilots, assisting in missions. However, when she was on board, the ship was more often attacked by A-Laws and Innovators. This was because her 'brother', Revive Revival is able to connect with her even though she has no memories of being an innovator and use her essentially as a GPS system. This explains why she randomly spaces out at times.
Around this time, she is obviously falling for Lyle. She was seen in bed with Lyle talking to him about his brother. He asked her about her family and she was unable to answer, even getting a headache as she tried to remember. The reason for this was that her false memories did not include a family. Lyle kisses her soon after this and she spaces out again as Revive connects with her again. Lyle teases her about this and soon afterward the Meisters have a mission. From inside Cheridum, Lyle tells Anew, who is at the bridge, that he loves her, which embarrasses her thanks to the number of people around.
When the Meisters capture Revive and bring the Innovator onto the ship, he shreds Anew's false persona, allowing her to remember to her status as an Innovator and her mission. She then shoots Lasse and holds Milena hostage to try and get Gundam 00 for Ribbons. She is confronted by Soma Peries before she can get from the control room to the hangar with Milena. Anew threatens Soma then is confront as well by Lyle and Setsuna. Seeing Lyle changes her tone and she asks him if he will come with her. Lyle pretends to leave Celestial Being at her request for him to come with them, but he simply saves Milena and Anew flees, taking a shuttle and saving Revive when he damages the Raiser. She and Revive return later with Healing and Louise in tow. Anew leads Lyle off the battlefield where the other pilots are fighting for a private battle. Locked in battle, Lyle asks Anew why they are fighting and Anew, possibly being controlled by one of the other Innovators, tells him it is because he is human and she is an Innovator. Lyle manages to get the upper hand using Trans-Am and shield bits. After stalling her attack, Cherudim tears off the hatch over her mobile suit's cockpit. Lyle tells Anew that he will make her his woman once again. Anew begins to cry and starts to climb out of the chair into Cherudim's waiting hand. She stops however as Ribbons takes over. She begins to attack Lyle again as Ribbons is determined to show Lyle the difference between humans and Innovators. After completely disabling Cherudim, Anew being controlled by Ribbons moved in for the kill when 00 Raiser shot her mobile suit. Thanks to the GN particles, Anew and Lyle were able to have one last moment together, where Anew told him that she was glad that she had been an Innovator since she had been able to meet him and that she wouldn't have been able to go through life without knowing him. After finding out that they had understood each other, the particles wore off, Cherudim retreated and Anew's mobile suit blew up.
Strengths: She has the ability to connect with her genetic brother, Revive Revival, and Ribbons Almark. Also as stated by Ian Vashti, "She's great at astrophysics, Mobile suit engineering, regenerative medicine, handling a ship, cooking, and to top it off, she's gorgeous!"
Weaknesses: Being able to connect to Ribbons and Revive could be considered a weakness. Also her feelings for Lyle are also a weakness.
